I'm panicking. Already Mark Melancon is coming out ripping Bobby V for pulling him from the game after allowing two hits. Mark claims they were "soft" hits but my friend hits are hits so hand the ball over and stop the whining. This team doesn't need whining right now. As for the whole closing situation, for the love of god can Daniel Bard please be the closer? Why the heck is he our 5th starter? We don't need an experiment as a 5th starter, we need a guy who can go 6-plus innings. Bard pumping cheddah at 98-101 mph just isn't going to happen for 6-plus innings. So cue Aceves at that spot because as we saw today, he doesn't have the closer mentality. To be a closer, you have to have a certain attitude and Aceves just lacks all of that. Bard is nuts. He just looks like a nut and you add a 100 mph heater to that look and you got yourself a closer.
